Facebook

Facebook enhances people’s ability to connect with others and form positive relationships with peers. Researchers found that there is more one-on-one communication and directed communication in Facebook, through tags and sharing. This is a way that we improve bonding with others and strengthen relationships.

Facebook has the biggest number of active social media users making it the perfect tool for any individual to acquire information.

In terms of quantity, Facebook has made a sizable amount of information available by introducing the use of hashtags (#) to trend topics, by making it relatively easy to share a post until it becomes viral, and by opening a paid avenue where online marketers can boost reach.

Since sharing of information is relatively easy in Facebook, there is no absolute way to screen its quality, thus the proliferation of fake news despite Facebook’s campaign against it, there’s also the existence of click-baits with main purpose of catching attention by using misleading title to encourage shares and page visit.

Is it a good thing? Or a bad thing? This will now depend on how the users will act, sort, use and validate the available information.
